This is the full text on some courses given at the Universidad de Zaragoza, Universidade de Coimbra and also at the FISMAT2015 in Sevilla in the Summer of 2015. It includes and introduction to the Quantum Mechanics on Hilbert Spaces, the classical orthogonal polynomials as well as two methods for solving the Schrödinger equation: the Nikiforov-Uvarov method and the Factorization method of E. Schrödinger.

This is the full text of a seminar given at Departamento de Matemáticas of the Universidad de Zaragoza (Seminario Rubio de Francia , June 5, 1998). This is a survey where it is considered the global properties of zeros of orthogonal polynomials. Special emphasis is given to the information obtained from the three-term recurrence relation. Examples of classical polynomials as well as q-polynomials are included. Any suggestion, remarks etc will be welcome.
